Lead the Charge in Shaping Australia’s Energy Future ⚡
Are you ready to take the lead in building a more sustainable energy future? An exciting opportunity is now open for a highly experienced and innovative Lead Power Systems Engineer to join a high-performing Power Transmission & Distribution team in Brisbane. This is your chance to lead complex, high-impact projects that will shape the evolution of Australia’s energy infrastructure.

Your Role
As a key leader within the energy team, you will drive project delivery, technical excellence, and team development across a diverse range of energy infrastructure projects—including renewable generation, battery energy storage systems, and grid enhancements. You’ll be instrumental in creating innovative solutions to meet the demands of a fast-changing energy sector.
In this role, you will:

  • Take ownership of major projects, providing high-level technical guidance and ensuring successful outcomes from concept through to delivery.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, fostering knowledge-sharing and capability development.
  • Advise clients at a strategic level on power generation, energy storage, and network operations, while engaging with key industry bodies and regulatory authorities.
  • Deliver high-quality, timely insights in complex technical environments to support power system planning, integration, and compliance.

About You:
You’ll be a degree-qualified electrical engineer with 10–15+ years of experience in the power sector—ideally from a consultancy, utility, or energy developer/operator. You’ll bring:
  • Expert knowledge in electrical engineering principles and power systems theory.
  • Extensive experience with power system modelling tools such as PSSE, PSCAD, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
  • Practical, site-based understanding of real-world power systems behavior and operations.
  • Exposure to protection systems and primary electrical design (advantageous).
  • Strong grasp of the National Electricity Rules and the NEM grid connection framework.
  • Proven leadership capability and a genuine passion for developing others and driving innovation.
We’re looking for a collaborative, forward-thinking leader—someone who thrives in complex environments and is motivated to make a lasting impact on the energy sector.

What You’ll Enjoy in Return
In addition to a leadership role in a purpose-driven team, you’ll enjoy a wide range of benefits designed to support your professional growth and personal wellbeing, including:

  • 🌟 Flexible work options tailored to your lifestyle and performance.
  • ✈️ International work exchange opportunities – work abroad for up to 4 weeks each year.
  • 📅 Public holiday swaps to align with your personal or cultural preferences.
  • 🍼 22 weeks paid parental leave available from day one.
  • 🏖️ Purchase up to 20 additional leave days per year.
  • 🎓 Access to world-class technical training and leadership development programs.
  • 🤝 Dedicated employee and family care support initiatives.
  • 💰 Discounts on major brands in health, tech, travel, and more.
