Lead Test Engineer

Federal Government Agency - Melbourne, Brisbane or Canberra basedInitial 12 month contract - with up to 24 months extensionAustralian Citizen with ability to obtain NV1 Security Clearance A Federal Government Agency is seeking experienced Lead Penetration Tester to be responsible responsible for testing and investigating security infrastructure within an organisation. They analyse IT systems to determine configuration weaknesses and faults that could affect security and business. Key duties and responsibilitiesProvide penetration testing support to current and projected demand as well as the Agency Customer Contact Management Project. Duties and responsibilities include:oversee the execution of test cases using in-depth technical analysis of risks and typical vulnerabilitieslead cyber penetration testing and vulnerability assessments using relevant tools and methods against a variety of technologiesconduct and lead complex threat simulation activities to identify weaknesses and/or opportunities in technical security controlsoversee the catalogue of test findings and potential measuresoversee and approve security testing plansprovide highly technical subject matter expertise to system owners and stakeholders to improve system security posturemanage and coordinate a variety of risk analysis and assessments on cyber security mattersperform web application and mobile penetration testing against complex enterprise platforms using a variety of technologiesconduct infrastructure penetration testing against enterprise grade systemscollaborate with system owners to develop test scope and preparation for testing ensuring remediation has been completed effectivelyreview reports, briefs and documentation and communicate technical findings and recommendationstransfer highly technical skills and knowledge to APS staff through continuous coaching and on-the-job training to support succession planningexercise delegations in line with legislation and guidelines.
