Your opportunity to join our team

We are seeking a motivated Leading Hand to join our team at Prestons Distribution Centre. In this hands-on role, you’ll predominantly work on the production floor, supporting daily operations as the 2IC to the Supervisor. A valid forklift licence and experience operating a forklift are essential, as you’ll be leading by example, driving efficiency, and ensuring a smooth workflow in a fast-paced environment.

This AM shift position is offered Monday to Friday (5:00 am – 1:30 pm), with overtime available on weekends.

Daily Tasks:

• Assist the Supervisor in overseeing daily operations and team performance.
• Lead and support the team to meet production and efficiency goals.
• Work on the floor as an operator, ensuring seamless operations.
• Maintain a safe and organised work environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Monitor workflows, allocate resources effectively, and track progress.
• Identify and address Food Safety and Quality concerns.

What You’ll Bring:

• Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a fast-paced environment.
• Valid forklift licence and proven experience operating a forklift
• Background in warehousing, distribution, or manufacturing (preferred).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a cold environment.
• A proactive approach with a focus on team development.
• Computer literacy and knowledge of workplace safety standards.
