About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to work at Box Hill Institute as our Learning Support Worker. This is a casual opportunity based at our Box Hill Campus. This position reports directly to the Student Accessibility Support Coordinator, and sits within the Student Life area of the Student Experience division.

What you'll do:

  • Support students in-class to participate, interact, learn and work towards positive educational outcomes
  • Accommodate individual learning styles and needs in a way that supports empowerment and independence
  • Contribute to a high quality and safe learning experience for students

About you:

  • Victorian Working with Children Check clearance
  • National Police Check clearance

Qualifications and experience:

  • A Certificate III in Education Support (Integration Aide/Teacher Aide), a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or a Certificate IV in Disability is preferred and/or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • A current First Aid Certificate (Level 2), Mental Health First Aid training and Safe Food Handling Certificate is desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, the needs of people with disability and of the values and legislative framework that inform quality disability support services in an educational setting. A
  • Understands the purpose of, and is able to use common applications such as Microsoft Office products for document preparation and email.
