CAMILLA is on the hunt for a commercially savvy and solutions-focused Legal Counsel to join our tribe on a part-time basis. This newly created in-house role will act as a trusted advisor across our business, providing expert legal guidance to support our global growth and ever-evolving creative landscape. From protecting our iconic prints and brand IP, to negotiating key commercial contracts and ensuring compliance across our retail footprint – you’ll be the go-to legal partner helping us navigate the legal intricacies of the fashion world. What you will be doing on a day-to-day basis...Register, monitor and enforce trademarks and designs (locally and internationally)Manage IP infringement, including cease and desist processes and domain disputesMaintain IP portfolio and advise on brand protection strategy across all regionsDraft, review and negotiate commercial contracts including supplier, manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, collaboration, and influencer agreementsManage and update standard form templates (NDA, T&Cs, talent agreements etc.)Negotiate and review retail lease agreements, heads of agreement, renewals, and other ancillary lease documents such as Incentive Deeds and Agreements for LeaseProvide legal input on store expansions, pop-ups, and premises fit-outs where neededTrack key lease dates (renewals, rent reviews, expiry, make good etc.)Liaise with landlords and external leasing agents/legal advisors as requiredManage disputes relating to tenancy, rent adjustments, and maintenance obligationsProvide legal guidance on marketing campaigns, competitions, consumer law and e-commerceOversee privacy compliance and data handling requirements (e.g., website terms, privacy policies)Oversee disputes relating to suppliers, IP, or commercial contractsLiaise with external counsel as neededBe a legal sounding board across all areas of the business as neededHelp translate legal concepts into commercially practical adviceAssist with ad hoc issues that arise in the day-to-day running of a fast-paced fashion brand What we are looking for in our Legal Council..Qualified legal practitioner with an unrestricted practising certificate (or eligible to obtain one in NSW)5+ years post-admission experience (ideally in-house or with a strong commercial background; flexible depending on the candidate)Solid grounding in contract law, property law, intellectual property, and consumer lawCommercial mindset with the ability to balance legal risk with practical business needsExperience working with or advising retail, fashion, or creative industries is advantageousExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills – you’re approachable, adaptable, and can translate legal speak into everyday languageSelf-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentOrganised, responsive, and able to manage competing priorities with a sense of calm and humour If that wasn’t enough to get you to click apply, we also offer...Competitive remuneration and benefits packageA Health and Wellbeing offering including yoga, Pilates and wellness classesStunning Head Office located in Alexandria, SydneyFlexible work practicesEnd of Month Birthday Drinks and Quarterly Angel Awards with epic prizesDog friendly officeA strong focus on personal and professional developmentDiscounts and Uniform Allowances that will have you head to toe in CAMILLA!
