About the job

Our client, a long standing and successful industry superfund is seeking a lawyer to join the legal team. This newly created role presents an exciting opportunity to join a leading brand with substantial funds under management and impressive growth trajectory.

The fund invests in private and public markets across multiple asset classes domestically and internationally.

The role sits in the Trustee division of the legal team and reports to a Senior Legal Counsel. The Team works across the business in connection with legal matters impacting and affecting the business outside of investment work.

The successful candidate will focus on engagement with APRA and ASIC. We are looking for a disputes lawyer to undertake litigation and regulatory work, everything from discovery to responding to notices and dealing with the Regulators.

Key responsibilities

  • providing legal advice / guidance on legislation, regulatory & prudential matters

  • managing external legal counsel.

  • assisting with the management of disputes and regulatory investigations

  • participating in and contributing to initiatives and/or projects

  • developing strong relationships with members of the business

Disputes lawyers with a background in regulatory investigations and minimum of 4 years’ PQE would be very much of interest. This position can be based in Sydney or Melbourne.
