We are looking for a part-time Library Technician to join our Morling College campus in Perth (Bentley, Western Australia). This role will provide library services and support for the Morling College (MC) community.

About the Role:

  • Provides library services and support for the MC community.

  • Manages the MC Collection (e.g., monographs, local print serials, eBook Central) in collaboration with library staff.

  • Maintains and improves library systems.

  • General administrative, event, organisational, and reception support.

  • 4 days/week (Mon – Thurs).

  • $58,299.25/annum (excl. Super) for full time; pro-rated to $46,639.40/annum.

Qualifications:

  • A qualification in library studies conferring eligibility for associate librarian or library technician membership of ALIA.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Experience working in a library, including in cataloguing and client services.

  • Well-developed proficiency and capability with personal computers and software, the Web, and library-relevant information technology applications.

Skills, Character, and Qualities:

  • Demonstrated Christian character and involvement in a local evangelical church.

  • Alignment of personal values, beliefs and practices with the mission, Staff Code (https://tinyurl.com/mcstaffcode), and Christian ethos of Morling College.

  • Willingness to embrace a culture of shared evangelical conviction and gracious, respectful disagreement on other matters.

  • Well-developed written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Responsible and able to stay ‘on task’ unsupervised.

  • Commitment to provide high quality customer service.
