Maintenance Fitter

We’re seeking a qualified Maintenance Fitter to join our Bristile Roofing Plant in Dandenong, VIC. 

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all mechanical systems within the Tile Plant are maintained. You will identify any potential preventative maintenance requirements and participate in continuous improvement activities and projects.

Shift Pattern: Alternating week 4/3 Roster, Day or Night Shift.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Diagnose faults with machinery and equipment to keep things running smoothly.
• Ensure safe working conditions and compliance to all WHS policies and procedures.
• Use various tools to fit and assemble parts, applying your knowledge of mechanics.
• Maintain all the machinery in the plant to ensure efficient operation.
• Complete planned maintenance, handle unexpected issues, and carry out any requested maintenance jobs effectively.
• Investigate equipment faults, diagnose issues, and fix them quickly to minimise production downtime.
• Work with managers, supervisors, other maintenance staff, and operators to resolve breakdowns and prevent them through preventative maintenance.
• Identify areas in the plant that might cause problems and take steps to prevent them.
• Ensure all your work meets industry standards, follows relevant laws and codes of practice, and complete all necessary paperwork.

Success Requirements: 

• Mechanical Fitting Trade qualification.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical fitting, welding and fabrication.
• Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and understanding of PLC operation (desirable).
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand schematic drawings, plans and specification.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Strong time management, administration and organisational skills.
• Ability to complete multiple tasks with varying levels of priority to minimise downtime.
