An excellent opportunity has arisen for the position of Maintenance Fitter to join a well-established and growing food industry company based in Reservoir & North Coburg.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager your key responsibilities will be varied and include:
Extensive experience in the food industry to assist with various duties including new equipment installs and commissioning plus general maintenance and repairs.
Working in clean, modern facilities on various types of meat processing, forming, packing machines, plus conveyor systems
Mechanical work must have good understanding of food and packaging machines.
Assist with machine set ups, fine tuning and maintenance of new and existing machines.
Mentoring and supervise a mature age fitter apprentice who is part of the maintenance team.
Must be flexible and available for weekend work and public holidays
Maintenance experience with food packaging machines (must)
Hydraulic and pneumatic experience
TIG, welding stainless steel experience
Able to communicate effectively to gain the cooperation of others
Excellent team player, progressive, innovative, flexible and reliable
Willing to learn and develop new skills
Willing to mentor others, share knowledge and skills across the company

You will be working in clean modern facilities working on various types of meat processing, forming, packing machines, plus conveyor systems.
Work will be mechanical and electrical and at times you may assist with PLC and machine set ups, depending on skills and experience.
You will be involved in new machine fine tuning and maintenance.
This will involve various duties from using your mechanical fitting skills to your electrical assistance skills, plus at times Tig welding.
Must have a good of understanding of the food industry.

Trade Qualifications
Maintenance Experience
Hydraulic and pneumatic experience
TIG, welding stainless steel experience
Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)

This is a permanent day shift role with some weekend shift requirements.
