We are looking for a maintenance planner to develop accurate maintenance plans (+12 weeks) aligned to our business strategy.
This role is a great opportunity for a highly motivated professional with a passion for continuous improvement to play a part in an experienced team to ensure effective work management across our smelter.
Working Monday to Friday and reporting to the Senior Planner, some of your responsibilities will include:
Creating work orders from notifications, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and statutory requirements
Detailed planning of work orders facilitating safe and efficient maintenance work execution
Maintain Master Data for assets and maintenance strategies
Plan work in alignment with cost forecasts & department downtime events
Develop 12-week rough cut schedules, maximising resource & equipment utilisation
Support Weekly planning rituals
Develop Zero Based Budgets
Provide coaching and support for Work Management process and SAP transactions
What you’ll bring
Experience in a trade or equivalent similar planning role - advantageous
Intermediate / Advanced use of MS office (Excel / Project)
Experience in the use of SAP or equivalent for maintenance modules
Experience in maintenance planning in industry - advantageous
A highly organised, structured & detailed approach to work with a strong commitment to safety.

Where you’ll be working
Boyne Smelters Limited is Australia’s second largest aluminium smelter with a 1,000-person strong workforce. Located approximately 20km south east of Gladstone at Boyne Island on the Central Queensland coast, BSL produces around 500,000 tonnes of aluminium per annum.
Activities at BSL include manufacturing carbon anodes in the carbon plant, aluminium production (smelting) in reduction lines, and casting of molten material into aluminium products ready to ship. The smelter is connected via a conveyor belt to the Queensland Alumina Limited refinery for the supply of alumina.
