About the Team & the Position
The Digital Division is accountable to operate, maintain, and deliver digital capabilities for all of AEMO to ensure AEMO fulfills its obligations across all jurisdictions and markets in which AEMO operates. This includes strategic technology foresight and plans, delivery of digital change, operation of critical infrastructure, key internal stakeholder engagement as well as operation of all of AEMOs IT applications and services.
The 'Energy Markets & Corporate Digital Systems (EMCDS)' Department supports the maintenance, development and testing for Gas, WEM and NEM wholesale market solutions, retail and market apps. The team operationalizes the digital delivery of all NEM/WEM/Markets applications
Position Responsibilities
Lead the establishment of new functions and services within the 'Energy Markets & Corporate Digital Systems (EMCDS)' as required by new project-based deliveries or internal needs
Represent the GM EMCDS in required forums from time-to-time.
Work with Digital Capabilities and Commercial to support EMCDS delivery teams in securing quality resource from our partners.
Manage and coordinate all ongoing audit and risk finding items within the EMCDS team with Digital Manager Risk, Audit, and Compliance
Manage the interaction of architectural submissions, including Solution Integrity Design Authority (SIDA) & Architecture Review Board (ARB) to obtain endorsement of the EMCDS Leadership Team
Partner with the Digital Customer and Digital Services team in the transition into operational use (Production) of a new technology
Partner with the Portfolio Delivery Manager/s on early engagement with the program portfolios to ensure the right areas within EMCDS are involved and at the right time, reducing the burden of all areas being engaged at once including effort estimating.
Demonstrate compliance with Workplace Health and Safety, Anti-Discrimination, and Competition and Consumer Acts.
Position Requirements
Skills & Experience:
Significant experience in influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders
Experience in the energy industry or similarly highly regulated industry experience relevant to fit for purpose information technology and data management.
Good knowledge of the practices and principles associated with the operation of AEMO or similar markets
Ability to strategically negotiate with and manage key third party outsourced providers and garner their respect.
Strong experience in the development of applications solutions to achieve business outcomes.
Experience in the leadership of high performing technology teams. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to play an influencing role in the Organization and Energy Industry
Experience in transforming ways of working to be aligned with product-based team models
High level commercial acumen, combined with strong communication and financial modelling skills. Strong and demonstrable customer service and negotiation skills, relationship and interpersonal skills
Strong dispute resolution and mediation skills to handle issue escalation
Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance.
Education/ professional Certifications:
Tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in an appropriate technology discipline or appropriate experience
This role may require NV1 or NV2 security clearance
