The vacant role is on the ELT, reports to the GM, and is responsible for all aspects of the operations of a manufacturing, warehousing and distribution site.  The style of business could be described as multi-stage semi-automated batched jobbing where operator skill and the highest quality standards are essential.  The vacant role is accountable for all the manufacturing parameters: procurement, process, quality and safety, CI, inventory and outbound logistics. 

It provides leadership in the overall business, including NPD.

It is a role which will give scope for your personal development – a well as encourage you to foster the personal development of the people under your direction.

Candidates must have a tertiary (or trade) technical qualification – probably in a branch of engineering.  They will have developed their career in professionally structured and run manufacturing businesses and now be in a position which sees them responsible for the output performance and bottom line of a manufacturing site or unit. 

Relevant experience backgrounds could be in wide variety of manufacturing operations, which consist of the manufacture of components, which are then multi-stage assembled into a functioning “operational” product.  Relevant material technologies could be metals, electrical products, wood/timber products.  Relevant industries could be automotive bodies / trailers, consumer and industrial electrical, heating and cooling products, finished building products, furniture and fit-outs.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate their understanding and use of Lean manufacturing methodologies, CI performance, and their development of effective teams.
