Mechanical Electrician - Wastewater Treatment Facility - Brisbane

$55 per hour TFN or $70PH ABN (whichever preferred by employee)

Are you a qualified and experienced Mechanical Electrician looking for a rewarding role in a vital industry? We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team at a wastewater treatment facility in Brisbane.

About the Role:

This is a hands-on role requiring a strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems within a complex industrial environment. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various equipment crucial to the wastewater treatment process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems including switchboards, motor control centres (MCCs), and distribution boards.
• Fault finding and diagnostics on electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Maintenance and repair of pumps, motors, valves, and other mechanical equipment.
• Conducting preventative maintenance programs.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and procedures.
• Working collaboratively with other tradespeople and operational staff.
• Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Electrician with a current Queensland Electrical Licence.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Electrician, preferably within an industrial or water/wastewater environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to safety.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience with PLC systems and SCADA.
• Experience with variable speed drives (VSDs).
• Confined space and working at heights certifications.
