The Role:

Kempe have permanent opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join our Melbourne branch site team with a Dayshift Fitter position based in Sunshine North. In this role, the successful applicants will be responsible for the provision of fixed plant mechanical maintenance services including planned and break down maintenance, fault finding, repairs and commissioning at our client’s site.

 Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• Australian recognized trade qualification Mechanical Fitters (or equivalent)

• Minimum of 2 years post trade experience

• Solid understanding and awareness of HSE requirements, responsibilities and obligations

• An ability to proactively work in a fast-paced production environment

• Work in a safe and productive manner

• Gearbox, and pump overhauls/repairs

• Hydraulic and Pneumatic fault finding and repairs

• Conveyor maintenance and repairs

• Robot cell repairs and maintenance 

• General mechanical fault finding

• General fitting 

• Perform basic welding repairs

• Be an active member in a small team of highly skilled tradesmen

• EWP, WAH & Confined space certificates or willing to attain

• Disciplined attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong organizational and team working skills

• Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment medical

• Current driver’s license
