Mechanical/ Maintenance Fitter

Our valued client L and V Engineering based in Walkerston QLD is seeking Mechanical/Maintenance Fitter to join their team on a full time and permanent basis.

L and V Engineering performs maintenance works to local Sugar Industry and sections of the Mining Industry.

The role includes but is not limited to:

• Conduct routine and preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and longevity
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions, perform repairs, and execute corrective maintenance to prevent operational disruptions
• Carry out inspections to identify potential issues and troubleshoot problems efficiently
• Collaborate with the team to implement improvement strategies for equipment reliability and performance
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements and inspections
• Comply with safety standards and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment

Desirable traits and skills that will highly be regarded:

• Trade qualified and have proven experience as mechanical/ maintenance fitter or similar role
• Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment
• Strong knowledge of troubleshooting technique and problem-solving skills
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks
• Physically fit and able to work in various conditions
• Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
• Strong communication skills
• Self-motivated, organised, punctual and reliable
• Must have great work ethics
• Experience in welding (advantageous)

Salary: Between $70,000 and $75,000 per annum + Super
