Mental Health Clinician (Grade 2) – Hospital Consultation-Liaison:


•    Hub of medical precinct in Parkville, Melbourne

About the Role:


This is a Fixed Term / Part Time position to cover Parental Leave for 12 months, at 0.8 FTE / 60.8 hours per fortnight within the Mental Health department, working with the Hospital Consultation-Liaison (HCL) team.
You will be responsible for providing high quality tertiary mental health consultation and care for children and adolescents who are inpatients of RCH medical and surgical wards, or patients of the Emergency Department.
 

Classification for this position is Multidisciplinary - Gr 2 Allied Health, or Gr 3 Nursing

Occupational Therapist (YB20-YB23), Psychologist (PK1-PK4), Social Worker (YC42-YC45), Speech Pathologist (YB47-YB50) or Grade 3 Registered Psychiatric Nurse (NP81-NP83) (base salary between $70,425 to $86,748 per annum, plus superannuation) 

What you’ll achieve:


•    Deliver excellent evidence-based practice psychiatric assessments and interventions to RCH inpatients
•    Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
•    Communicate effectively with patients and families to ensure their understanding and that their needs and views are included in plans and actions.   


Your skills and experience:

•    Entry to practice tertiary qualification
•    Post qualifying clinical experience 
•    Demonstrated commitment to work and contribute as part of a team
•    Demonstrated/embedded clinical practice and experience beyond entry-level
•    Psychologists must have minimum Masters degree (in Clinical, Neuropsychology, Ed/Dev, Psychology).

About the Department:


RCH Mental Health comprises community- and hospital-based services.  This includes three multidisciplinary outpatient teams which are based in Travancore, Sunshine and Hoppers Crossing.  RCH Mental Health teams are led by a partnership between Team Coordinator and Consultant Psychiatrist, with the Team Coordinator responsible for the operational functioning of the team, and the Consultant Psychiatrist accountable for driving high quality clinical care across the Team.
