As a Merchandiser at MUJI Retail (Australia), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our household merchandise. This permanent full-time position involves managing all aspects of ordering, receiving, allocation and distribution support, inventory, and sales support. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement merchandising strategies for product launches, promotions, and seasonal changes, ensuring pricing aligns with both customer expectations and company objectives
  • Proactively analyse sales figures, customer reactions, and market trends to anticipate product needs, plan product ranges and stock, and develop sales forecasts
  • Monitor daily/weekly sales, gross profit, and turnover to determine and execute effective weekly merchandise action plans
  • Effectively communicate product information through presentations, briefings, and comprehensive knowledge training for store teams
  • Implement corrective measures for slow moving merchandise
  • Collaborate with the wider Store Support Service team, stores and 3PL
  • Regularly prepare merchandising reports, forecasts, RKJ and performance improvement reports

  • Diploma and/or Tertiary Qualification in Business or Merchandising is highly desirable
  • Experience in Merchandising and/or Inventory Control within the retail industry is highly desirable
  • Intermediate Excel skills, PC and other MS Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an eye for detail
  • Strong listening, presentation, and decision-making skills with an ability to build rapport across all organisational levels
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and ability to understand customer needs
  • Strong problem solving, organisational and analytical skills
