MOTOR MECHANIC

Task & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Detect and diagnose faults in engines and parts
• Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components; check and assess parts
• Repair and replace worn or defective parts, and reassemble mechanical components, referring to service manuals as needed
• Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups to improve vehicle performance and comply with pollution regulations
• Reassemble engines and parts after repairs
• Test and adjust mechanical parts post-repair to ensure proper performance
• Use diagnostic tools and computers to assess and test parts
• Inspect vehicles, issue roadworthiness certificates, or detail required repairs to ensure compliance with road safety standards
