Task & Responsibilities
- Maintain, test, and repair petrol engines and mechanical parts of lightweight motor vehicles, including transmissions, suspension, steering, and brakes.
- Conduct thorough inspections to diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools, computers, and test drives.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, brake repairs, and fluid checks.
- Replace and repair essential vehicle components, including engines, transmissions, suspensions, and steering systems.
- Test repaired vehicles to ensure proper functionality, alignment, brakes, and fluid levels meet safety standards.
- Ensure vehicles comply with safety and pollution standards through comprehensive servicing.
- Replace damaged or worn-out parts, including tires, batteries, and belts.
- Perform logbook services, issue roadworthy certificates, and explain vehicle issues and repair processes to customers.
- Maintain accurate service records, including parts used and vehicle history.
- Regularly calibrate and maintain tools and diagnostic equipment for optimal performance.
- Stay updated on new automotive technologies, repair techniques, and industry standards.
Qualification & Experience
- Be a fully qualified and Minimum of one year of full-time experience as a Motor Mechanic.
- Certification equivalent to AQF Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology is required.
- Carry out jobs within an allocated timeframe with the confidence and ability to communicate effectively with management.
- Proficiency with computer-based diagnostic equipment and advanced diagnostic techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to repair and reassemble complex vehicle systems.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- A valid Australian driver’s license is preferred.
