Task & Responsibilities
The position will suit a candidate who is experienced in working in an environment that requires a high attention to detail. The key duties include:
- Diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and testing a variety of diesel, petrol, and gas-powered vehicles.
- Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in gas, petrol and diesel engines and their mechanical components.
- Disassembling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and other parts, to inspect them for faults.
- Repairing and replacing worn or faulty parts, including engine components, transmission systems, brake systems, and suspension parts.
- Performing routine servicing and maintenance, including oil changes, brake inspections, and cooling system checks, etc, to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety and pollution regulations.
- Testing and lubricating vehicles' engines and other major components.
- Performing both preventative and regular maintenance on vehicles as required.
- Disassembling and efficiently reassembling engines and other major components and parts after being repaired.
- Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after repair to ensure optimal performance.
- Using manual, computerised and other modern diagnostics tools to assess and test vehicle components.
- Inspecting vehicles in preparation for seeking the issuance of drivability documents or to identify necessary repairs for compliance.
- Attend to roadside breakdown service calls as required.
Qualification & Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a motor mechanic with proven skills in maintaining, testing and repairing a variety of vehicles.
- Expertise in handling and working with a variety of vehicles.
- Proficient in interpreting repair manuals and instruction sheets.
- Experienced in assembling and disassembling engines.
- Experienced in the installation of mechanical components.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent technical and mechanical skills.
