Position Overview: 

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Electrical and OHS Technical Specialist to join our team in New South Wales. This role involves overseeing electrical works and ensuring compliance with safety requirements. Due to the high-risk nature of electrical work, this position also encompasses OHS responsibilities, reporting to the National OHS Manager.

As an Electrical Qualified Technical Person (QTP), you will leverage your professional license and training to underwrite the works delivered by TVH within the relevant service area. You will ensure that service technicians are capable, competent, and responsible for safely delivering quality work in line with client expectations and state regulations. This role is crucial for maintaining compliance and fostering a culture of safety and success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain compliance with TVH, client, and regulatory safety requirements.

• Engage in the development and training of team members.

• Create a positive workplace and a culture of safety and success.

• Conduct Safe Work Observations (SWOs) and Quality Work Observations (QWOs).

• Engage with apprentices to ensure continual learning and provide feedback.

• Assess the competency of apprentices to progress through the training schedule and eventually be deemed competent as qualified tradespersons.

• Assess the technical competency and safe operation habits of new and existing staff.

• Advise management and operational teams on safety-related matters.

• Provide expert technical advice to the wider TVH team.

• Contribute to the development and review of technical and safety documentation.

• Review electrical job compliance involving new or modified installations.

Requirements:

• Relevant electrical qualifications and professional licensing.

• Proven experience in a similar role within the electrical services industry.

• Strong knowledge of Australian OHS legislation and standards.

• Ability to demonstrate examples where you have upskilled others through training processes.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proactive and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

• Ability to undertake incident investigation, review, propose, and implement corrective outcomes.

• OHS training and qualifications are highly desirable.
