Occupational Therapist or Social Worker: NDIS & Functional Capacity Assessments
Are you a compassionate Occupational Therapist or Social Worker with expertise in chronic and complex conditions? Do you excel in conducting detailed assessments and navigating the NDIS landscape? Biio is seeking a dedicated professional to join our innovative multidisciplinary team.
In this role, you will focus on providing comprehensive Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs) and NDIS guidance to our patients with complex health presentations. Working collaboratively with our integrative team, you'll help patients access the support they need while contributing to their overall care journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough Functional Capacity Assessments for patients with chronic and complex conditions
Provide expert NDIS guidance, including access requests, plan reviews, and appeals
Develop detailed reports that accurately capture patients' functional limitations and support needs
Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care
Stay current with NDIS policies, guidelines, and best practices
Utilise our bespoke digital health platform, Biiography, for efficient patient management
Clinical Focus Areas:
Connective tissue disorders including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and hypermobility spectrum disorders
Persistent pain conditions and complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS)
Dysautonomia and POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome)
Neurodivergence and associated functional impacts
Chronic fatigue and post-viral conditions
Complex comorbidities and their functional implications
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
Relevant qualifications in Occupational Therapy or Social Work with current registration
Demonstrated experience in conducting FCAs and navigating the NDIS
Understanding of chronic conditions and their functional impacts
Excellence in report writing and documentation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Empathy and a commitment to providing patient-centered care
Comfort with digital health platforms and telehealth delivery
A dedication to ongoing education and professional development
