About The Role The role of the Level 1/2 Occupational Therapist is to work within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure a high standard of Occupational Therapy service is provided to patients of the Hospital, along with appropriate support and advice to their carers. The Occupational Therapist will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a patient-centred, evidence-based, continuous quality improvement work environment that is consistent with the values and ethics of HammondCare and Occupational Therapy Australia. The essence of this role Provision of effective and efficient Occupational Therapy service to clients and appropriate support and advice to their carersParticipate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in assessing patients’ level of functional and care needs, setting care goals and providing appropriate treatmentParticipate as a member of the HammondCare team in the application of the organisation’s Mission and values to the pursuit of its objectives in a client-centred, continuous quality improvement work environment About You A tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRASignificant practical experience or Extensive Knowledge in providing Occupational Therapy Services in a Rehabilitation, Aged Care or Palliative Care setting. Experience across inpatient and outpatient/ community settings would be desirableA current driver’s licence and safe driving recordWillingness to travel between HammondCare’s sites and servicesEffective communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated organisation and time management skillsAble to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamExperience in conducting home assessments and equipment prescriptionEmpathy and patience HammondCare is a NSW Health-affiliated organisation, all NSW Health transferable entitlements will be recognised.
