About The Royal Melbourne Hospital:
The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.
The Occupational Therapy (OT) is a senior leadership role within Orygen Specialist Program (OSP) which involves assisting with policy and service development, as well as engaging in evaluation and research activities. Reporting to the Program Manager with support from the Director of Allied Health, this position may evolve in line with changes in service structure and mental health system reforms.

About the role:
- Utilize discipline-specific expertise to contribute to workforce planning, policy formulation, and service development during a period of rapid organizational change
- Provide strong leadership and support to the Occupational Therapy profession, ensuring high standards of clinical practice and professional development
- Ensure that practice aligns with evidence-based care and contribute to the research base to enhance service delivery and outcomes
- Lead workforce initiatives, including the development of graduate and training opportunities to strengthen the profession
- Promote and support the growth of new sites and services, with potential for staff rotation or travel as the service expands and evolves
About you
Qualifications
- Occupational Therapists (must hold relevant degree, registration and/or membership as per attached Position Description)
Essential
- Passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist with at least 10 years of clinical experience in the mental health field, specifically with young people experiencing mental health disorders
- Extensive experience in youth mental health and early intervention, with strong knowledge of clinical practices, relevant legislation, and strategic frameworks
- Interested in developing strategies to enhance workforce
- Foster key relationships and interfaces
Desirable
- Accredited Occupational Therapist (AccOT) status with OT Australia
- Strong understanding relevant legislation for youth mental health
- Proven leadership in clinical research, project management, and health service planning, implementation, and evaluation
