Operations Manager - Formwork / Civil

The Opportunity
This contractor specialises in a combination of formwork, bridge decks, capping beams, and civil and commercial car parks throughout Metro Melbourne.
  
Working with predominantly Tier 1 & 2 principal contractors, we are seeking to appoint an Operations Manager to oversee staff development, business development, and client management.
  
This role will suit an upper-tier supervisor/superintendent with structural experience and a mix of people's operational management experience who is looking to get into a management-level position.
  
Reporting to the Managing Director, your Key Responsibilities include the following:

• Oversee the schedule of construction crews at various sites across Melbourne
• Utilise your network of Tier 1 contacts to map the market and bring in new projects (bonus attached to new work won)
• Review profit and loss margins on previous projects, and make incremental improvements
• Be the point of escalation for construction issues, where applicable
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with infrastructure contractors

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant role in Formwork Construction in Australia
• Experience working on projects to Tier 1 standard and specifications
• Strong understanding of steel framing, suspended slabs, FRP, and concreting quality construction
• Degree in Construction/Engineering
• Experience working on construction projects up to $20 million in construction value
