OSS Engineer/Solution Designer - Telco

We are currently working with one of Australia’s largest Telecommunications and Network providers who are currently seeking a highly experienced Solution Designer to lead the full lifecycle management of Fixed Network EMS/NMS solutions across IP, Microwave, and Optical domains. This role is initially on a 6 month engagement with the likelihood of extension and is based out in Macquarie Park.

In this role, you will be responsible for gathering and analyzing requirements, translating them into solution designs, and governing the implementation and testing phases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and business analysts to gather and analyze solution requirements.
• Design and implement EMS/NMS-based network management solutions, delivering FCAPS functionality across fixed network domains such as IP (Carrier Ethernet, MPLS/IP, ATM), Microwave, and Optical Transport (SDH, DWDM, OTN).
• Drive the expansion and enhancement of existing EMS/NMS solutions within fixed network domains.
• Provide technical oversight, conduct audits, and evaluate the performance of current EMS/NMS architectures.
• Develop and review project proposals, including accurate estimations of cost, resources, and effort.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams, such as Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and Project Managers, to ensure optimal design, development, and delivery of EMS/NMS solutions.
• Support test plan development, execution, and validation to ensure quality delivery.
• Produce and review technical documentation, ensuring clarity and precision throughout the solution lifecycle.

About you:

• Demonstrated experienced in OSS Assurance Solution Design, with at least 3 years focused on EMS/NMS solution design.
• Strong expertise in OSS, network assurance, and management protocols such as SNMP, ICMP, Syslog, CDP, NetFlow, streaming telemetry, Netconf, Yang, RESTconf.
• In-depth knowledge of Fixed Network domains, including IP (Carrier Ethernet, MPLS/IP, ATM), Microwave, and Optical Transport (SDH, DWDM, OTN).
• Proficient with Private and Public Cloud technologies, workloads, and migrations.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and related technologies, including Web Services (SOAP, REST), JavaScript, Apache, Tomcat, JBOSS, WebLogic, Databases, and CI/CD
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and innovation.
