Our client, SS Painting & Decorating Services, is recognised for delivering superior painting solutions that enhance the visual appeal and value of properties. Their company is located in Lara, Victoria, and is currently seeking a full-time Painter to join their team. The ideal candidate will apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes to protect, maintain and decorate the surfaces of buildings and structures.

The annual salary of this job is $70,000 to $75,000.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Setting up scaffolding and ladders and placing drop cloths to protect surrounding areas from paint splatters.

· Preparing surfaces by stripping old paint and wallpaper, repairing woodwork, filling cracks and holes, and smoothing and sealing surfaces.

· Selecting and mixing paints to the desired colours using pigments, oils, and additives for thinning and drying.

· Applying paints, varnishes, and stains to surfaces with brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.

· Hanging wallpaper, aligning patterns, and trimming the edges.

· Cleaning tools and workspaces after the job is done.

· Occasionally repairing windows and replacing glass in wooden and metal frames.

· Reviewing blueprints and instructions to determine project needs, including material quantities and the style preferences of the owners.

· Inspect the completed work to ensure all tasks are completed before delivering it to the owners.

· Adding decorative touches to paint jobs, such as stencilling, lettering, and glazing.

Qualifications:

· Must hold a Certificate III in Painting and Decorating.

· Should have experience in a similar role.
