Our client, Chin Painting & Renovating, is seeking a skilled Painting Trades Worker to join its reputable team. Their affordable services include painting homes, commercial buildings, and strata units.
The Painting Trades Worker will play a key role in providing these exceptional painting services, contributing to the company's mission of enhancing spaces with precision and care. For the role, the annual salary is $70,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation. The Responsibilities:
- Setting up scaffolding and ladders, and covering surrounding areas with drop sheets to prevent paint splashes.
- Preparing surfaces by removing old paint, wallpaper, and repairing any woodwork, filling cracks and holes, and smoothing or sealing surfaces.
- Mixing and preparing paints to achieve the required colours, combining pigments, oils, and additives for the desired consistency.
- Applying paints, varnishes, and stains to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Hanging wallpaper, ensuring patterns align correctly and trimming the edges neatly.
- Cleaning and maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Repairing windows and replacing glass in both wooden and metal frames.
- Laying and repairing wall and floor tiles as needed.
- Performing surface preparation by sanding and priming before applying finishes.
- Creating custom paint effects by mixing specialised coatings and textures.
- Installing protective finishes or coatings to enhance durability and weather resistance.
Qualifications:
- At least one (1) year of local experience in painting and decorating.
- Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or equivalent qualification.
- Australian Permanent Residents and Citizens are preferred.
