Paralegal

Lex Legis Legal is a relatively new construction law firm in North-West Sydney (founded January 2024). Prior to starting the firm, the Principal practiced in the construction and infrastructure teams at a leading international firm.

The firm is seeking a casual paralegal 1-2 days a week. The firm does both transactional construction work (contract drafting and negotiation) and construction disputes work (litigation, security of payment adjudication, mediation, expert determination).

The firm also does a small amount of conveyancing for construction clients of the firm and a small amount of general commercial litigation work (outside of construction).

There may be an opportunity for the role to develop into a full-time graduate role. Should that occur, the firm may be amenable to an arrangement where the firm pays the costs of your graduate diploma in legal practice, which is required for admission.

Tasks will include:

·         assisting with drafting documents;

·         legal research;        

·         making phone calls;

·         note taking in meetings;

·         preparing content (updates to client on new cases/legislation etc); and

·         file and document management.

The ideal candidate will:

·         be motivated to learn;

·         be courteous;

·         have full work rights in Australia; and

·         have a driver’s licence (occasional work-related travel may be involved).
