About The Role
We are looking for a Paralegal to join our Asbestos & Dust Diseases Team on a full-time, permanent basis. Based in our Brisbane CBD office, this role will suit candidates looking to make their mark within the Firm whilst helping everyday Australians.
Our Asbestos, Silica and Occupational Disease Team are market leaders in Dust Diseases litigation and pride themselves on ensuring that their clients not only receive the best compensation result but provide exceptional services during our client’s compensation journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal and forensic researchReviewing and summarising clinical recordsDrafting correspondence & legal documentationDrafting claims formsObtaining Witness statementsReviewing and analysing documents (discovery, WorkCover files, liability documents etc.)Liaising with clients (both internal and external)Ensuring work practices are consistent with MB's policies and procedures, including Law9000
The experience we are looking for:
Excellent organisational skills, with meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively A strong academic background and/or experience in conducting complex legal research and writingAn understanding of our client base and the capacity to demonstrate empathy and compassionDesirable backgrounds include Business/Commerce, Engineering, or Computer ScienceDemonstrated experience in using Microsoft Excel, updating databases, and/or manipulating data is advantageousCapability to prioritise tasks, adapt to a rapidly evolving environment, and demonstrate outstanding organisational skillsA genuine passion for law and an eagerness to contribute within a collaborative work setting
