About the Position

This position will contribute to and support the education, promotion and administration of compliance relating to the enforcement of the parking local law to achieve the goals and objectives of Rangers & Security, in accordance with the City’s Corporate Values.

You will also be required to carry out the following;

  • Provide high quality customer focused parking enforcement and compliance services in accordance with relevant legislation, Local Laws and Council Policies.
  • Conduct proactive and reactive patrols, undertake inspections and investigations to enforce relevant legislation
  • When necessary, represent the City in the Magistrates Court as a witness relating to parking enforcement matters.
  • Respond to and record actions arising from inspections, enquiries and complaints and maintain accurate records.
  • Issue warnings and infringements in accordance with relevant Acts and Local Laws whilst maintaining a balance between community education and enforcement.
  • Report irregularities, damage and vandalism to signposting and Council assets.
  • Plan, deliver and promote a range of education programs in accordance with the City’s customer service philosophy.

About You  

We are looking for someone who brings enthusiasm, passion, and commitment to providing outstanding customer service and dealing with challenging situations, which can be physically demanding, along with proven conflict and negotiation skills. Applicants will hold a Certificate in Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS) 1 & 2 or Municipal Law Enforcement A & B, a First Aid Certificate and a current ‘C’ class motor vehicle driver’s licence.

Although not essential, it is beneficial to have previous experience in a regulatory/enforcement environment or a similar service role, working knowledge of PinForce, Aero Ranger or equivalent systems, a Certificate IV Local Government (Regulatory Services), or working towards.
