The Role

The People and Safety Officer is responsible for supporting a close-knit team of 3, the business in providing accurate and timely human resources support to managers and employees and work in collaboration with the Finance and ICT Team.

You will gain experience working in all areas of human resource management and industrial relations as well as safety and worker’s compensation.  Specifically, 

  • Recruitment administration including advertising, contract management, compliance, verification checks, onboarding and offboarding.

  • Onboarding and orientation to all new employees, contractors, students, and volunteers. 

  • Job description updates, position management and organisational structure changes.

  • Assist with HR audits including production of audit data and documentation.

  • Provide contract and payroll support to the HR team.

  • Responsible for training administration including monitoring expiration dates, renewals, and booking training courses. 

  • Process and documentation compliance and improvements.

  • HR team administration functions including monitoring of human resources email mailboxes, responding to queries, filing, data entry and production of documents and correspondence.

Selection Criteria

  • A minimum certificate IV human resources to a Bachelors and/or equivalent experience.

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a HR officer role

  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence and being proactive to continuously improve systems, processes, and procedures.

  • High level computer skills and strong attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality.

  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as self-motivated to work independently.

Desirable

  • Experience working with Human Resource Information Systems.

  • Not-for-Profit or Health Industry experience.
