The Company
Maxibor is a leading horizontal directional drilling company with a large fleet of small, mid-sized and maxi-rigs and other HDD equipment providing HDD design. We have a number of projects underway and several large projects in the pipeline. We are seeking to add to our experienced team an experienced Plant Mechanic to help successfully deliver projects in the water, gas, power, rail and telecommunications sectors. Remuneration is at a competitive level recognising the experience of the individuals and the need to maintain our record of safe and quality service delivery.
The position will involve:
- Managing of Maxibor’s highly varied plant fleet including Maxi Horizontal Directional Drills, powerful pumps, drill mud cleaning systems and mixing systems, HDD tooling, excavators, vacuum trucks, prime movers, trailers and utilities.
- Sourcing of Parts required
- Scheduling of plant services and inspections in alignment with HDD project activities
- Purchasing of plant, services and materials in accordance with Maxibor’s procurement policies and procedures
- Maintaining plant maintenance and compliance records as required under Maxibor’s HSEQ policies and procedures and by project specific client requirements
- Managing the refurbishment of specialised HDD plant items including rigs and pumps
Applicants will also ideally have variety of experience covering areas including welding, painting and sand blasting, hydraulics, solids control systems, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems and HDD tooling.
From time to time the position will require a dynamic problem solver.
Successful Candidates will need to possess
- White Card.
- Trade qualified.
- Experience scheduling repairs/maintenance/inspections in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft office suite and the ability to learn and use the Maxibor's systems.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to find and favourably negotiate purchase of required items and services.
- Demonstrated experience of working in a team environment and autonomously to achieve best outcomes.
- Understand and able to work to Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (OHS&E) requirements.
- Minimum HR truck licence
