The Community Policy Unit (CPU) is part of the Aboriginal Engagement and Community Policy division. We support the Premier and Cabinet to achieve their economic, social and wellbeing objectives by leading and coordinating cross government policy development and implementation advice on social policy matters. 

About the Roles

The Policy Officer undertakes quality research and assists in the formulation of Government policy initiatives and developing advice on community policy whole of Government matters for consideration by the Premier and Cabinet.

These roles are for high performing individuals who have strong organisational and time management skills and can communicate and work effectively and collaboratively across the division.

We are looking for individuals with:

  • demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and organise workload to meet targets and deliverables.
  • strong research skills with an ability to distil large amounts of information and deliver it in a clear and concise way;
  • the ability to engage and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and build and maintain strong relationships;
  • demonstrated initiative and creative problem-solving skills; and
  • the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

These roles are an integral part of a flexible and high functioning policy area and may be required to provide high level Secretariat support to various Committees and Working Groups.

Your attention to detail, positive attitude and ability to remain agile will be key to your success in this role.
