The State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) is looking for a Policy Officer to join the Workers & Home Building Compensation Regulation Directorate. The position is in one of our workers compensation policy teams.

About Us
This is an exciting opportunity to work in our State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA). SIRA regulates three statutory insurance schemes in NSW – Workers Compensation, Compulsory Third Party (CTP) and Home Building Compensation, and also has some regulatory functions in other NSW insurance schemes including the Lifetime Care and Support and Dust Diseases schemes.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Undertake research and analysis for a range of policy projects and initiatives.
  • Prepare policy advice applying best practice methodologies to ensure alignment with organisational direction and legislative objectives.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the development and implementation of policies relevant to your team.
  • Provide project management support for policy initiatives within your team.

About you:
  • A great team player with a positive outlook.
  • Good stakeholder and relationship management skills.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a complex, sensitive and changing environment and work across multiple tasks.
  • An interest in and curiosity about personal injury schemes, and/or experience in a policy or personal injury background will be highly regarded.
