Tasks & responsibilities

Preparation of Baked Goods: Produce a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods according to recipes and production schedules.

Quality Control: Ensure all baked items meet our high-quality standards, including taste, texture, and presentation.

Ingredient Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, including ordering and rotating stock to minimize waste.

Recipe Development: Collaborate with the team to develop new recipes and refine existing ones to enhance the product range.

Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to workplace health and safety standards, ensuring all food preparation and storage complies with local regulations.

Equipment Maintenance: Operate, clean, and maintain bakery equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen and service teams to meet customer expectations and production deadlines

Qualifications & experience

  • Formal Qualifications: Certificate III in Commercial Baking or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional baking experience, including experience with artisanal bread and pastry production.
  • Technical Expertise: Skilled in dough handling, proofing, and baking techniques, as well as decorating and finishing baked goods.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality and presentation with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production challenges efficiently.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
