Primary Products Inspector nec (Fruit Inspector-Full-time) position vacant in our agricultural business The Trustee for Dhariwal Family Trust trading as Dhariwal Farms at 993 Bucca Road, Bucca, NSW-2450.

Minimum 38 hours a week.

Job Description:

 Inspect produce and related operations for compliance with laws and regulations governing health,

quality, and safety.

 Auditing and monitoring quality procedures at farm and food handling and processing facilities to

ensure compliance with required standards

 Testing samples of produce for quality, size and purity

 Identifying quality issues with plants and products

 Verify that transportation and handling procedures meet regulatory requirements.

 Monitor the grading performed by employees to verify conformance to standards.

 Inspect the cleanliness of establishment and the practices of the employees.

 Explain required standards to farm workers.

 Inspect or test produce to detect harmful diseases, chemical residues, or infestations.

 Monitor disease and pest infestation to farm plants

 Determine and supervise disease and pest control

 Monitor and determine irrigation practices

 Monitor and determine cultivation and pruning practices

 Inspect food products and processing procedures to determine whether products are safe to eat.

 Advise on development programs or new equipment or techniques to aid in quality production.

 Examine, weigh, and measure produce to certify qualities, grades, and weights.

 Label and seal graded products and issue official grading certificates as required.

 Take emergency actions, such as closing production facilities, if product safety is compromised.

 Direct or monitor the quarantine and treatment or destruction of plants or plant products.

 Make recommendations regarding processes of corrective action to be taken.

Applicant must have:

Completed Diploma of Horticulture and minimum 2 years of full-time work experience in a similar position

Annual Salary (depending on experience/skills) between $75,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation.
