Principal Financial Accountant
 Join a high-performing Queensland Government team as a Principal Financial Accountant (AO8), where your expertise will play a key role in delivering critical financial reporting, asset management, and advisory services across the department.

The Opportunity In this pivotal role, you will:

• Coordinate the preparation of Annual Financial Statements and external financial reports in line with statutory obligations.
• Support and guide the Financial Accounting team through complex accounting issues and contribute to leadership of day-to-day operations.
• Review and prepare key month-end journals and reconciliations, including oversight of work delivered by Queensland Shared Services.
• Manage relationships with Queensland Treasury, Queensland Audit Office, and other key stakeholders.

About You To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, Queensland Treasury Financial Reporting Requirements, and relevant legislation.
• Proven experience in financial and statutory reporting and government finance environments.
• Ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues and support team capability uplift.
