Principal Financial Accountant Join a high-performing Queensland Government team as a
Principal Financial Accountant (AO8), where your expertise will play a key role in delivering critical financial reporting, asset management, and advisory services across the department.
The Opportunity In this pivotal role, you will:

Coordinate the preparation of Annual Financial Statements and external financial reports in line with statutory obligations.

Support and guide the Financial Accounting team through complex accounting issues and contribute to leadership of day-to-day operations.

Review and prepare key month-end journals and reconciliations, including oversight of work delivered by Queensland Shared Services.

Manage relationships with Queensland Treasury, Queensland Audit Office, and other key stakeholders.
About You To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, Queensland Treasury Financial Reporting Requirements, and relevant legislation.
- Proven experience in financial and statutory reporting and government finance environments.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues and support team capability uplift.
