You would be responsible for the development and maintenance of operational processes and resources aimed at identifying and mitigating the risk and threat reportable offenders present to the community. You would be expected to deliver evidence-based advice, assessment tools, and submissions pertaining to forensic risk assessments across contempory and emerging issues within the field of child sexual abuse and reporting schemes. You would engage directly with leading academics and police in behavioural forensics, evidence based policing, and data analytics.

Your key accountabilities

The core capability requirements for this role are:

• Evaluate the operational assessment, management, and offence desistence of reportable offenders for service wide business improvement strategies.
• Achieve desired policing outcomes through the establishment and maintenance of effective working relationships and ongoing liaison with members of the Queensland Police Service, the legal profession, government agencies and law enforcement communities domestically and internationally.
• Research, develop and deliver validated threat and risk assessment protocols to effectively and efficiently manage reportable offenders residing in the community.
• Develop the processes and resources which are consistent with mitigating community risk and meeting operational policing objectives in an effective and efficient manner.
• Deliver evidence-based advice and timely well-researched submissions, briefs and notes on key issues relating to the delivery of specialist policing services, emerging issues and complex policy matters.
• Foster a working environment that encourages teamwork and empowers staff to seek challenges, develop skills and achieve results while maintaining personal responsibilities for psychological welfare and supporting other team members.

Role Requirements

Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience

• A strong background in administering, interpreting and applying validated forensic risk assessments within the criminal justice system.
• Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Criminology, Social Work or a related allied health discipline and possession of post graduate qualifications (or significant progress towards post graduate qualifications) in the relevant area will be highly regarded.

• The successful applicant/s will be required to undergo psychometric assessment, prior to appointment.
