ABOUT SO4

Be a part of this exhilarating new chapter and join an innovative and forward-thinking mining company at the forefront of a new industry in Australia, who are focused on sustainability and making a change.

At SO4, we’re more than just a mining company, we’re pioneers on a mission to produce world-class Sulphate of Potash (SOP), right here in Western Australia. Our flagship operation at Lake Way, just 15km south of Wiluna, is unlocking the potential of this critical mineral for global agriculture.

We’re building a legacy grounded in innovation, sustainability, and performance and we want you to be part of it. Based in our modern Perth CBD office overlooking the Swan River, this is your chance to join a close-knit, driven team that’s making a real impact in a game-changing industry.

We’re seeking a Process Engineer who’s technically sharp, solutions-focused, and excited about driving continuous improvement. You’ll be the crucial link between our Lake Way production site and the Perth office—diving deep into process modelling, analysis, and reporting, while collaborating with teams across the business.

At our core, we value:

People: We trust, respect, and value our team, fostering an environment of integrity and humility.

Ownership: Accountability is key, and we empower our people to own their outcomes.

Nurture: Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We care for our environment and community.

Drive: We pursue excellence with purpose and intent, striving for continuous improvement.

Safety: Safety is non-negotiable; it’s our shared responsibility to protect each other.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Process Engineer, based in our Perth office, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Lake Way operations by delivering expert-level process engineering services and driving continuous improvement across our technical systems. You will bridge the gap between head office and site-based teams, supporting project execution, process modelling, reporting, and technical analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Deliver high-quality process engineering support to our Lake Way operations

·       Operate and maintain advanced modelling tools (SysCAD, Excel VBA, Power BI)

·       Support technical investigations and lead process improvement projects

·       Develop and automate reporting tools to track performance

·       Prepare medium and long-term operating models and salt production forecasts

·       Collaborate with site-based engineers to ensure smooth knowledge sharing

·       Contribute to operations and project reporting across all stages

·       Support Lake Way production site with process engineering expertise beyond daily on-site activities.

·       Develop a thorough understanding of salt evaporation pond and process plant operations.

·       Perform process modelling calculations and technical investigations.

·       Develop and deliver continuous improvement projects.

·       Drive process improvement initiatives and support project analytics and performance tracking.

·       Provide on-site operations support, as needed.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an energetic and driven Process Engineer with strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to work. You excel at multitasking, taking initiative, and consistently seeing tasks and projects through to completion. You hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering and bring at least 5 years of proven experience in process engineering, ideally within the mining industry. Experience with Salt or Potash processing is highly desirable.

To be successful you will have:

·       Strong process modelling background, including experience with SysCAD and advanced Excel (VBA, Power Query, Power BI).

·       Proficiency in Office 365 and business software applications.

·       Experience with document control systems (e.g., Aconex).

·       Sound knowledge of metallurgical processes and sampling techniques.

·       Demonstrated experience using process modelling tools and mass balancing techniques

·       Strong communicator with the ability to deliver clear, compelling messages to a wide range of stakeholders.

·       Experience working in or supporting remote mine sites or communities.

·       WA “C” Class driver’s license (mandatory).

WHAT WE OFFER YO:

Our culture is inclusive, friendly, and fun. We are passionate about our work and work hard to achieve our individual and team goals. We help each other out and share our knowledge.

Our benefits continue to grow, some of these include:

·       Permanent full-time opportunity

·       Perth office overlooking the Swan River

·       Healthy and competitive salary

·       Eligibility to participate in the Short-Term Incentive Program (STIP)

·       Employee referral program

·       Team social events

·       8 weeks of Paid Parental Leave, including return to work incentive

·       Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Wellness App.

·       Salary Packaging (Novated Lease Vehicles, Electronic Devices, Education Expenses, FIFO)

·       Salary Sacrificing (Superannuation)
