About the business

ProStar Joinery is an Australian manufacturer, importer and supplier of timber joinery products that provide to wholesale and trade customers all over Australia. Our production and distribution facility, based in Derrimut, services the VIC, SA and TAS markets. We specialise in retail ready flat pack products, and are rapidly expanding into custom, made to measure products for our trade and commercial customers.

This role oversees Production and Distribution functions and approximately 10 team members, and takes ownership of day-to-day facility operations, reporting directly to the Group Victorian Business Manager.

About the role

We're seeking a highly driven, results orientated Production and/or Distribution Supervisor who has a current forklift licence, to join our team and help continue to grow and develop a positive and safe team culture. 

We are seeking a reliable, efficient, and experienced Supervisor on a full-time basis. We believe that our success is attributed to our staff and the quality work they perform on duty.

You will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing and managing the production and distribution facility and teams to meet production, logistic and storage schedules, quality system and WHS requirements

  • Providing supervision and support to team members to ensure high performance, efficiency, compliance, safety and adherence to our policies

  • Overseeing the manufacturing of timber and door products, including operation of machinery and boxing

  • Coordinating production planning including ordering materials, preparing production schedules and organising team rosters 

  • Managing the receiving, storage and distribution of products to meet service standards, while following operational and company policies and procedures

  • Controlling inventory levels, investigating problems in the warehouse operations process, and providing solutions

  • Coordinating stock movements with external transport companies 

  • Manage and co-ordinate efficient logistics of domestic and international freight

  • Managing and monitoring the quality of products through our Quality Management System during the assembly, wrapping and delivery processes

  • Be willing to assist with store duties including loading/unloading trucks and picking and packing orders during busy periods

  • General facility and operations housekeeping, and following WHS policies and regulations, including Daily Safety Inspections 

  • Train new team members within area of responsibility

  • Identify any systems improvements and make recommendations for change

  • Some forklift operations
