The Role

A full-time role for an experienced Production Manager with sheet metal fabrication and machining experience has just become available. As the Production Manager, you responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing production schedules, and ensuring quality control. You coordinate with cross company teams, supervise employees, enforce safety protocols, manage inventory, and optimise processes to meet cost, quality, and delivery goals. Additionally, you troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvements in efficiency and product quality. This role will sit within the Operations team and contribute to the business efficiency and continuity. 

Key Responsibilities

As Production Manager your responsibilities will include: 

  • Managing technical activities and ensuring all work is performed safely and efficiently
  • Supervising personnel on site, being available for problem solving and decision making
  • Working with Team Leaders to ensure efficient workflow
  • Monitoring operational KPIs.
  • Providing reports on outcomes against expectations, understanding and acting on any variance to expectations
  • Sound working knowledge of cutting, fabrication, painting and loading duties by Team Members
  • Assisting with preparation of annual production budget
  • Leading by example for staff in manner, attitude and customer service to ensure the operations are process driven
  • Managing onboarding, training, upskilling, multiskilling of team members of your shift
  • Complying with all policies and expected behaviours 
  • Supporting the Senior Management Team in the achievement of Company Goals

Key Skills

To be successful in this role you will possess the following

  • A minimum of 3 years in a similar role 
  • Proven knowledge and experience with steel fabrication and manufacturing processes would be highly desirable 
  • Highly developed communication skills, including strong team management & interpersonal influence.
  • High level of written communication skills is essential.
  • Highly developed analytical skills to collect and analyse information, problem solve & make effective decisions & find positive solutions. 
  • Developed computer literacy skills, specifically with Microsoft office suite.
  • A safety-first mindset
