About the role
We currently have an exciting full-time opportunity in our Supported Employment Division based at Brunswick Industries in Reservoir. The successful candidate will work in our modern 3000 square metre warehouse and production facility. A key function of the role will be working alongside people with a disability, engaging in work activities, providing support and helping them improve their skills and knowledge, while building their independence. You will be working with individual supported employees as well as small groups to help them achieve their goals and reach commercial targets.
Work pattern: Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 4pm & Friday 7:30am – 2pm.
What you'll need to succeed
Work experience in warehousing & production
Ideally experience and knowledge within the disability sector, however we will consider those with experience from other voluntary organisations, including sporting clubs, youth groups, scouting etc
An ability to provide support and care with active support skills and the right attitude to participate in disability training on the job
A passion for supporting people with disabilities to achieve the best they can – bring your special talents to their experience!
Ability to provide a small amount of personal care when required
Ability to advocate and provide person-centered support that exceeds standards and is delivered within the available resources – be creative!
Resourceful and innovative approach to creating opportunities for those we support – make social change happen
Strong communication skills; ability to prevent and resolve issues and to build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders
Strong administration skills and computer literacy in order to complete appropriate documentation
A professional approach to work
Commitment to the principles of WHS, EEO, Cultural Diversity and all relevant legislation.
Must haves
Right to work in Australia
NDIS Worker Screening Check - We are working with vulnerable people and this check is required to ensure we are employing people that do not present a risk to participants
Certificate in First Aid Level 2 + CPR
Full Victorian driver licence
Evidence of Covid-19 vaccination, including booster (or medical exemption).
