About the Business Unit:

People, Safety and Culture provide Human Resource services to the Department of Justice & Community Safety (the department) in the following functional areas:

  • Learning and Capability.
  • Human Resource Services.
  • Workplace Relations.

Learning and Capability (L&C) comprises of four teams of which the RTO is one team, each having the following broad areas of L&C activity across the department:

  • the Justice and Community Safety RTO is responsible for the accredited Vocational Education and Training (VET) for sheriff's, custodial, youth justice (YJ) and community corrections officers.
  • the Justice Learning Team have responsibility for corporate training and development.
  • the Corrections Victoria L&C Team manages specialised project and consultancy services to Corrections Victoria.
  • The Nexus team have responsibility for the management of learning and performance systems.

The RTO currently operates within the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) Conditions and Standards and requirements of the Victorian Registration and Qualification Authority (VRQA) Guidelines, within the context of a vocational setting.

About the Role:

As an integral member of the department's RTO team, the RTO Administrator will work closely with the RTO Manager, Quality Systems and Record Officer and the Course Development Coordinator.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Accurately maintaining data and records for all Corrections Victoria (CV) qualification enrolments, providing timely input of enrolment, training and assessment data
  • Assisting with analysis of data and the production of relevant reports on service delivery to relevant stakeholders including the DJCS RTO and CV Program Area
  • Ensuring that all CV training and assessment administrative and reporting functions comply with the AQTF requirements.

About You:

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Experience as an administrator of a VETtrak Student Management System
  • Experience in the administration of training and assessment services that complies with AQTF standards
  • Experience in the administration of training and assessment services that comply with Vocational Education and Training [VET] standards and VRQA guidelines.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • An appropriate Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (essential)
  • Certificate III in Correctional Practice (desirable)
  • A current Victorian driver's licence (essential).
