An exciting opportunity exists for a temporary Program Manager within the Land Transport Safety & Regulation branch, based in Brisbane.
In the role of Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading a significant business transformation project and providing advice in relation to project governance activities, ensuring all program and departmental strategies and frameworks are adhered to. You must have a consultative and practical personal approach to managing projects within a challenging program environment.
Some of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Lead and manage project tasks including governance, products, artifacts aligning to Prince2 governance, internal PMO requirements, Agile delivery methods and adherence to external assurance processes and departmental strategies and frameworks.
• Regularly engage with project team members and internal and external stakeholders, to drive a culture of collaboration and ensure alignment of activities support successful delivery of the program.
• Act independently and manage assigned tasks to ensure quality outputs are delivered within agreed time frames and in accordance with approved scope and quality standards. This includes the identification, documentation, and escalation of changes to project scope including the identification of alternate management strategies and risks.
• Take responsibility to deliver on agreed outcomes, model high standards of professionalism and ethical behaviour; demonstrate self-awareness and a commitment to personal development.
To be successful in the role you will need to have:
• Demonstrated ability to lead change in a complex environment by embracing change and lead with focus and optimism in an environment of complexity and ambiguity.
• Demonstrated ability for accountability for the execution and quality of results through professionalism, persistence, and transparency.
• Demonstrates sound governance by maintaining a high standard of practice through governance and risk management.
• Proven and extensive experience in leading and delivering large and complex projects including writing business cases and briefing documents, managing Project Governance Boards, managing complex schedules and project risks.
Highly desirable:
• Experience in the role of a Project Manager in a complex working environment.
• Knowledge of the QGEA Gated Assurance Framework for ICT initiatives
• Knowledge of Queensland Government Procurement Policy.
• PRINCE2 Practitioner certification (or equivalent), and experience leading complex projects.
• AGILE certification or experience leading agile teams and project delivery of large and complex projects.
