  • Clerk Grade 7/8

  • Full-Time Temporary 12 months with the possibility of extension
  • Parramatta location with hybrid working – weekly attendance


This is a Talent Pool opportunity, which means you will be placed onto a Grade 7/8 talent pool for upcoming opportunities across Government Shared Services. We will actively match against positions as they arise over the next 18 months.


This role sits in the Business Process Operations (BPO) branch within Government Shared Services.

About the team


This newly established team’s purpose is to support the delivery of the strategic roadmap to consolidate and harmonise shared services operations and systems across the NSW public sector.

Involving the consolidation and optimisation of systems and processes across the BPO team, the program will lead to improved operational effectiveness and a better customer and employee experience.

The Project Officer will perform project management and support activities to contribute to the development and delivery of a range of projects to meet business objectives.


Your day-to-day


Reporting to the Director Business Transformation - Government Shared Services, your role will:


  • Assist in the day-to-day management of a business project pipeline applying the principles of an established framework and project management methodology.
  • Support Senior Project Lead(s) in delivery of large scale organisational and/or business transformation projects
  • Provide a range of project management and support services to enable the project team to complete tasks and achieve agreed outcomes on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope, in line with established project management methodology
  • Develop and maintain customer, stakeholders and vendor relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and issues management to ensure project deliverables are met
  • Coordinate working groups, committees, and consultations to facilitate exchange of information
  • Prepare and maintain project related documentation and source and collate information for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to contribute to achievement of the project outcomes and identification of emerging issues


To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:


  • A fundamental knowledge of Project Management methodologies, business process frameworks and associated supporting documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing and updating project schedules, risk registers and other project tracking mechanisms.
  • Strong time management skills, with an ability to prioritise and self-manage your daily work to consistently meet key deadlines.

Salary Grade 7/8, with the base salary for this role starting at $106025 base plus superannuation
