The key duties of the position include:

The Role
As a Project Support Officer, you will be responsible to the Deputy Project Manager (DPM) within the Air Combat and Electronic Attack Systems Project Office (ACEASPO) Project Management Unit (PjMU), supporting the submission of future capability proposals to government whilst providing broader project support to the PjMU. You will be responsible for project reporting, cost, schedule and scope management and developing project management artefacts, as well as broad secretariat support.

The duties of the APS 5 Project Support Officer include, but are not limited to:
 

  • Support the DPM to manage schedule, risk, budget and resources in accordance with organisational requirements.
  • Secretariat support and coordination to the PjMU, including supporting engagement with external agencies and international partners.
  • Develop an understanding of and then apply Defence project management methodologies.
  • Support the DPM to develop and evaluate strategies to achieve project outcomes, including the analysis and interpretation of project performance against agreed plans.
  • Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships, identifying relevant stakeholder expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes.
  • Ongoing self-improvement and professional development, including continued participation and completion of competencies in line with the Project Management Career Pathway and ongoing professional development.

About our Team
ACEASPO is responsible for the sustainment and upgrade of the F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler fleets on behalf of the Royal Australian Air Force. As part of the ACEASPO PjMU team, you will deliver project(s) to ensure the continuous upgrade of these fleets, working closely with industry and international partners to deliver future air combat and electronic attack capabilities to the joint force.
