About the Role
Public Relations Professional
We have a full-time permanent position available in our dynamic team. As an integral
member of our small team, you will be part of achieving our strategic objective to deliver
quality networking and industry events. Primarily, the work will be conducted from our office
located in Acacia Ridge on Brisbane’s Southside, and we run events and functions all over
Queensland. This role will require travel across Queensland and ability to attend and
promote functions at night.
Your responsibilities include:
Event Management:
• Coordinate and oversee events, including venue selection, audio-visual services,
speaker/entertainment arrangements, and catering.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers.
• Manage event registrations, bookings, and attendee requirements such as dietary needs.
• Track and report on event budgets, targets, and outcomes.
Marketing and Communications:
• Assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns for events and organisational
initiatives.
• Write, edit, and review engaging content such as articles, blogs and social media posts.
• Take and promote photographs and other illustrative materials for events and campaigns.
Media Relations:
• Develop and maintain media relations programs to build positive coverage.
• Coordinate engagement to promote events, including pitching stories, blogs and managing
interviews with event participants or speakers.
Strategic Planning and Analysis:
• Research industry trends and public sentiment to guide communication strategies.
• Monitor and analyze public perception, providing recommendations to enhance the
organization’s image.
• Gather and evaluate post-event feedback, using insights for future improvements.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
• Collaborate with internal departments such as marketing and membership to ensure
cohesive messaging and branding.
• Build and nurture relationships with stakeholders, sponsors, and community partners to
support organisational goals.• Provide general assistance to team members and contribute to delivering high-quality
services to the organization’s members.
Budget and Resource Management:
• Plan and manage public relations budgets to optimize resources effectively.
Reporting and Documentation:
• Prepare reports and communications showcasing the organization’s values, milestones,
and achievements.
About you
You will possess the following skills and attributes:
• Bachelor degree Qualifications in event management or public relations and/or 5 years
relevant experience – work within a member association is beneficial.
• Creativity, curiosity and the willingness to learn new skills with an interest.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Well organised, with great attention to detail and the proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong customer service focus and excellent communication skills at all levels.
• High level of accountability and responsibility.
• Reliable, punctual and with a flexible approach.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team, solve problems and take initiative.
