A fast-growing tech company is seeking a detail-oriented QA Software Engineer to join its Sydney-based team. This role is centered on testing and benchmarking embedded sensor platforms and software features in real-world environments. You’ll help ensure that high standards of quality and reliability are built into every stage of the product development lifecycle.
  
Reporting to the Embedded Quality Engineering Manager, you’ll work across development teams to build automated test frameworks, validate embedded features, and help shape the QA strategy for next-gen sensor products.

What You’ll Do:
•Design and maintain automated test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines
•Develop performance benchmarking tests for sensors and embedded software
•Conduct manual pre-release testing and field validation of embedded systems
•Identify and resolve gaps in test coverage, dependencies, and risks
•Write detailed bug reports and collaborate with stakeholders for resolution
•Support UAT and quarterly software release validation
•Perform system integration testing for new sensor functions and technologies
•Assist with data acquisition and processing for algorithm development
•Help align QA strategy with broader tech and product goals
•Track quality metrics, manage defects, and support agile development workflows

What You Bring:
•A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience
•3+ years in QA, Test Engineering, or Software Verification/Validation roles
•Proficiency in Python and experience with embedded systems
•Familiarity with test frameworks such as pytest, Selenium, or similar
•Strong grasp of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
•Comfortable working in Linux environments and using Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence)
•Experience with Xray, mock/simulation infrastructure, or lower-level module testing is a bonus
•Passion for test automation, product stability, and process improvement
•Excellent communication skills and a hands-on, pragmatic approach to problem solving
