We are looking for someone who is excited about quality and risk and who works collaboratively to make continuous system and process improvements. You will have high attention to detail and have a prowess for writing policies and process documentation.  You will be a self-starter who displays a high level of professionalism and is able to work autonomously.  This role is negotiable as full time or part time for the right applicant.

The Quality and Risk Manager is a critical leadership role, leading the quality improvement and risk management activities across the hospital to meet accreditation outcomes and ensure a positive patient experience in a safe environment. You will lead the implementation of the hospital’s Quality and Infection Prevention and Control Program, including the monitoring and reporting of incidents, adverse events, clinical and key organisational indicators, and importantly ensuring the hospital meets the accreditation standards.

  • Establish and implement quality systems and processes that evaluate and improve patient/ client care in line with the service quality, risk and incident management framework. 

  • Facilitate the review and enhancement of processes for the collection, analysis and reporting of clinical performance indicators, and audit program. 

  • Initiate, develop and support initiatives that ensure the delivery of optimum patient outcomes. 

  • Lead the preparation for accreditation processes incorporating the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. 

  • Advocate for the accountability for quality and risk throughout the hospital’s workforce. 

  • Foster a continuous improvement culture through change management projects. 

  • Ensure monitoring and evaluation of the hospital’s infection prevention and control risk management plan and activities. 

Our ideal candidate will meet the following criteria: 

  • Registered Nurse with current division 1 registration with AHPRA. 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience post-graduation in a mental health setting. 

  • Demonstrated experience in managing hospital accreditation programs including quality management and process improvement. 

  • Previous experience with Riskman reporting system would be highly desirable. 

  • Highly advanced written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Post graduate studies in quality or business management would be an advantage.
